Varför anses de skall ha så svalt vatten?
Jag hittar inga uppgifter om temperatur där man just fångat hulstaerti, men från samma område har Riksmuseet insamlade Hemichromis, Nanochromis, Tilapia, och anger en vattentemperatur 30.2 grader.
Området är låglandsregnskog (300 m.ö.h.) alldeles intill ekvatorn.
Bra fråga. Ingen aning vad det grundas på faktiskt.
