My english skills are not... well, I can't find the word for it. Actually, I can't find any words. And I need help! And this has nothing to do with fish, I just need help with my homework. Because I suck. :)
My question: How would you translate the swedish word "miljötänkande" into english? I guess it's not enviornmental thinking. [:o]
Hard to say without the whole sentece so bring it on.
Actually, it is ;P
"Environmental thinking" Is the phrase you're looking for.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O.
It doesn't fit with my sentence. :(
Hard to say without the whole sentece so bring it on.
I missed your inlägg. Wait a minute..
There are usually lots of different ways to say the same thing in english. Write your whole sentece and lets see if we van find another way.
My sentence: As the environmental thinking increase the need for environmental related occupations grows.
Should it be grow or grows?
I think the word you wont is "medvetenhet" consiesness (excuse my spelling). And it should be increases and grows (I think)
inlägg = post.
And what is the english word for "miljökoordinatorutbildningen"?
I think the word you wont is "medvetenhet" consiesness (excuse my spelling). And it should be increases and grows (I think)
inlägg = post.
Thank you. :)
...environmental awareness...
Grows, tror jag
Hoho, måste det finnas två som skriver olika saker? Måste jag tvingas ta ett beslut? Oups, what I meant was, ehrm..
The enviromental coordinator education, at least I think so.
awarness - facts, coinsensness - feelings. Just chose if it is mind or heart your after.
Environmental coordination training.
If you're studying a subject that will lead to a profession, it's called training. Or you can say "studying to be an environmental coordinator.
The sentence should be as follows;
"As environmental awareness increases, so do the need for related professions".
This way, you won't have such a long word as environmental twice in the same sentence, which makes it easier to read. Also, you're probably using "environmental" quite a lot throughout your text.
Occupation can mean anything at all that you do;
" Taking care of my home occupies the whole day"
But a profession is something you're trained, educated to do.
"Being a teacher is a tough, but rewarding profession" It also indicates you're just that- a professional!!
concern= you're thinking about something and see a need for action
awareness= you know there's something going on, it can be right or wrong.
"I'm aware that children have different eyesight from adults and thus have a harder time seeing, for example, a fast moving car or a flying bird. "
This is just a fact, children see things differently. It doesn't necessarily mean you have to do something right here and now. But it certainly could indicate the need for action.
"I'm concerned that so many children have to play unprotected in the street".
Not just my child, but any children. We have to build playgrounds, or ban cars. I will/should take action myself to do that.
So I think you should use the word "awareness". You're not out to make the masses demonstrate, you want people in the right places to acknowledge the need for your education.
When you have read this text, you have perhaps noted that I haven't used a lot "the" in it. That's a fault Swedes tend to do. Read your sentences out aloud and see if you can't lose a few yourself.
I'll be happy to help you further if you wish!!
Good luck!
The sentence should be as follows;
"As environmental awareness increases, so do the need for related professions".
I object!
It should be: "As environmental awareness increases, so DOES the need for related professions."
Does refers to "the need". It's the NEED that increases, therefore it should be "does" and not "do".
Apart from that i have no further views on the matter :)
